Jonathan Martyr is an Equity Partner in the commercial investment and development team. He holds a (BSc) Honours in Estate Management and is a Chartered Surveyor and member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). Additionally he is an assessor for the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence and an RICS Registered Valuer.

With 20 years of experience in UK property, Jonathan is widely acknowledged as one of London’s most active investment advisors. He advises a broad spectrum of real estate investors both UK and internationally, with particular expertise in the private client and property investment manager/ investor markets.

Jonathan advised a private overseas investor on the acquisition of Prada’s Bond Street men’s flagship unit in Q4 2011 for £32,000,000. Following completion of a key retail rent review in 2012 highlighting the dynamic performance of the Bond Street market , the unit was sold in December 2013 in an off market transaction reflecting a profit of c35 – 40%.

Cordea Savills buys IBM, Upper Ground, London SE1 for £120 million

Cordea Savills has purchased IBM, Upper Ground in London SE1 for £120 million on behalf of a private family office. This iconic headquarters building of 217,429 sqft, backing onto the River Thames, adjacent to the National Theatre in Waterloo. It is let to IBM United Kingdom Limited for 17 years with a minimum term certain of 9 years (tenant break). It was acquired at a net initial yield of 4.85% (corporate acquisition).

Acting on behalf of D’Arcy Properties (Private Middle Eastern Investor), Jonathan sold the investment property to Hermes Real Estate Investment Management in August 2013 for £67,000,000.


Jonathan is a dedicated cyclist and competes in a number of 100 mile sportives each season along with the occasional race and time trial.

The highlight of his season is a 3 day ride to Cannes from Genoa Italy for the start of Mipim The group takes in the finale of the spring classic Milan – San Remo race enjoying the climbs of the Poggio and Cipressa on the way.
